KITCHEN ACTION PHOTOGRAPHY

KITCHEN ACTION PHOTOGRAPHY

“Kitchen Action” is a phrase I made up simply meaning chefs, cooks, butchers, bakers, etc doing what they do in a kitchen area. To shoot kitchen action is like jumping into a fire. They know I am coming, yet every time it is a “what are you doing here” sort of vibe from staff. Therefore I do a lot of crouching and hiding under stainless steel tables and do my best to let the kitchen forget I am even there. It may take 500-1000 photos to get that “one shot,” but you typically feel it the second you take it. This is probably the most challenging type of photography I do…and my favorite. Magnus Nilson shushed me once and then he suggested I move immediately from his walking path. I did.
