Shooting beverages is a pleasant nightmare. You can most definitely just take a photo of a beverage and with a little common sense and some styling it will be “alright.” To make it look professional you must employ an arsenal of tricks of the trade. I have spent over 20 hours just shooting one bottle. Another 5 hours editing the same bottle. The result is often an image that nobody ever realizes what went into making it. And that is the whole point.
